Getting Older - Services

There are many services provided by local, state and federal government that most people don't notice until they need them.

Local Councils

Local councils often run services to increase your mobility and social life including community bus and taxi services, library activities, respite care etc. Check your local council website and council offices.

State Government

State Governments are responsible for hospitals and health services. See your local state MP.

Federal Government

The Department of Health and Aging is where you go for information about aged care homes, residential respite care and financial information. The Aged Care Information Line on 1800 500 853.

Support Organisations

You'll find support organisations a good source of information about diseases and disabilities and local services.
