  • 10 to 12 November 2009 - AdvantAge 2009 - Annual Conference of the Retirement Village Association Ltd. Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.
     
  • 11 November (Wednesday) 2009 - Remembrance Day
     
  • 11 November (Wednesday) 2009 - Aged Care 2009 - Griffith South Bank Graduate Centre, Brisbane.
     
  • 12 November (Thursday) 2009 - Brisbane Over 50's Community Health Expo - Find out about local community and health and emergency services. Guest speakers include Noeline Brown the Ambassador for Ageing and Spencer Howson from ABC Brisbane Radio. Receive information from podiatrists, speech pathologists, audiologists, dieticians, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists. The expo also includes health checks, balance classes, demonstrations in Tai Chi and hydrotherapy, and more. 9.00 am to 3.00 pm at PresCare Hopetoun, 260 Cliveden Ave, Corinda, Queensland.
     
  • 14 & 15 November - Gluten Free Food and Allergy Show - Sydney
     
  • 25 to 27 November - Australian Association of Gerontology 42nd National Conference - The theme is Translation and Transformation. National Convention Centre, Canberra.
     
  • 29 November (Sunday) 2009 - Thank You Day - Say thank you to the health and medical researchers who dedicate their lives to saving ours.
     
  • 2 December (Wednesday) 2009 - Alzheimer’s Australia ACT Health and Wellbeing Open Day - The free open day includes a sausage sizzle and a relaxation session at 1.30 pm. 10.00 am to 2.00 pm at 159 Maribyrnong Ave, Kaleen. Bookings are essential. Contact 6255 0722.

2010

  • 21 to 28 March 2010 - NSW Seniors Week - Events will take place across metropolitan, regional and rural NSW.
     
  • 21 to 28 March 2010 - ACT Seniors Week - Presented by the Council of the Aging ACT (COTA). Recognising the contributions seniors make to the community.
     
  • To be confirmed 2010 - Young at Heart - Sydney Senior's Film Festival
     
  • To be confirmed 2010 - Seniors Week Queensland - Recognises the contribution seniors make to the community.
     
  • To be confirmed 2010 - Biennial Country Health Primary Health Care Conference - Chaffey Theatre and Renmark TAFE, Renmark, South Australia.
     
  • To be confirmed 2010 - National Nanna's Night - Aims to raise awareness about Australia's ageing population, future health needs and the need for care and inclusion of the aged. Register an event or find one near you to raise funds and help care for the elderly.
     
  • To be confirmed 2010 - International Women's Day
     
  • To be confirmed 2010 - 4th Annual Veteran's Race Day - Balaklava Racecourse, South Australia.
     
  • To be confirmed 2010 - Australia's Biggest Morning Tea - Anyone can host their own morning tea during the months of April and May. All funds raised help The Cancer Council fund research, prevention and support services for patients and families.
     
  • To be confirmed 2010 - Guide Dogs Victoria Open Day
  • August 2010 - Hearing Awareness Week - Annual, national event held in the last week of August. which raises community awareness about hearing loss and ways to protect hearing.
     
  • To be confirmed August 2010 - Seniors Month Northern Territory - Recognises the contribution seniors make to the community.
     
  • 1 to 30 October 2010 - Every Generation Festival - Recognises the contribution seniors make to the community. Events occurring in Adelaide and rural South Australia in October each year. For more information visit COTA Senior's Voice.
     
  • To be confirmed October 2010 - Seniors Week Tasmania - Recognises the contribution seniors make to the community.
